Tellor Layer Mainnet is now open to the public!
Layer is the next evolution of the Tellor oracle – a fast, permissionless, secure blockchain, designed to give developers full control over how data gets on-chain. Unlike traditional oracle networks that offer rigid and centralized pre-built feeds; Tellor Layer lets builders define their own data, while having it verified and crypto-economically secured by a global consensus network. This makes it perfect for use-cases that require flexible, trust-minimized access to real-world data—like DeFi apps, prediction markets, data bridges, government statistics, and much more.
Previous versions of Tellor lived on general-purpose chains like Ethereum, where smart contracts were constrained by gas costs, fragmented token security, and the need to conform to a host chain’s logic. Tellor has fixed these issues by designing the chain from ground up with a focus on uniform logic, consolidated token security, sovereign data definitions, and complete modularity, all while never straying from Tellor’s core principles of permissionlessness, decentralized, and transparent verification. Layer is where the Tellor oracle stops being a tool you plug in, and starts being infrastructure you can build on.
*Note, the current inflationary rewards of tellor are still on Ethereum and will be moved over at a later date. All you can do now is bridge funds to take part in validation or reporting (with no rewards).
